Tenambit School Exhibition a great success!

The inaugural Tenambit Primary School Art Exhibition, held on the 23rd and 24th March 2012 was a resounding success, attended as it was by a large number of the public, parents and school staff.

16 framed Paintings by members of MRSA plus a number of unframed paintings were sold to the value of $3937 and a further $750 profit was returned on the sale of raffle tickets.  The school P & C also made a profit on the day.

Kay Sparkes, Lorraine Tindall and Christine Lantry attended a school assembly this morning.  The students were preparing for a cross country run.  Kay presented Andrew Brown - Principal with a cheque for $2808 being the proceeds collected from the recent Exhibition.

Andrew has asked the students and their teachers to think about where the monies would be best spent on the school.  Andrew's suggestion was in some form of Art for the school.

There will also be more Art classes happening throughout the year with some volunteer work from the Art Society.  The children will also have something special to work towards with their art work.  The Exhibition will take place again next year around the same time in March.

A wonderful day was had by all at the Workshop held at MRAG in January.  A big thank you to our Workshop coordinator Karen Malmgren and the Gallery for the use of the Workshop Room.

A lovely lunch was ordered from Seraphine Restaurant and organised well so we were not losing too much prescious painting time. It was also a nice social time interacting with Members we never normally see very often.

Some lovely work was exhibited at the end of the day and it was amazing to see the variations in the same subject. Thank you Dorothy for a wonderful day.

We are all looking forward to our next Workshop at the Gallery.
